My Journey Back to Work After Just Two Short Years on the Road

It’s still surreal to me. Back in February 2021, we made the bold decision to purchase Betty Jo, our beloved Airstream. We went all-in, selling off our belongings, fueled by the grand vision of living life on the open road.

Here we were, fully immersed in the adventure, journeying back and forth across the great United States. As novices to the world of RVing, towing, and the nomadic lifestyle, and newly retired, we had the luxury of time to acquaint ourselves with the intricacies of this new world. Gratefully, retirement provided us with the freedom to fully embrace and navigate this learning journey.

Our Airstream Adventure and the Unexpected End to Retirement

Then it ended. Almost as quickly as it began.

We faced the challenging decision to part ways with life on the road. Deciding to settle in Florida, just north of Tampa, I cried as we said goodbye to our beloved Airstream, and became homeowners once again.
