Patience….

I think I have lost mine

It happened around April or maybe it was May. What little Patience I had disappeared. I tried looking for it. You would think that after being quarantined for over a month, it would be around the house somewhere. I have looked in all the usual places, but this time it’s hidden itself and hidden well.

My theory — it just cannot tolerate the world right now. When the pandemic hit, we all quarantined, and a stillness settled over the earth. But what emerged after quarantine was lifted — was anger, vile hatred, extreme greed, outlandish corruptions, everyone for themselves, and STUPIDITY.

I have very little patience for stupid people. For heavens sake we are arguing over something so simple as wearing a mask. We’re believing in conspiracy theories that make absolutely no sense. Seriously who makes some of this shit up? We are putting our trust, during a pandemic, not into science and doctors and experts, but into stupid conspiracy theories on Facebook (of all places) and on the talking head at the White House who doesn’t even understand the basics about being a President, let alone a pandemic he thought was just a hoax.

Where did all of the nice people go? The ones helping others? The businesses who stepped up during a crisis and made masks and protection gear to help our healthcare workers? The friendly neighbors?

Maybe the zombies did invade but instead of making us the Living Dead, they made us all angry idiots.

This pandemic started out by showing us the good in humanity, the decency in people, kindness towards others. Not sure how or why, but it suddenly changed and revealed the utter depth of destruction people will do, the length in which they will achieve it, and the worst parts of mankind. It’s also revealed the worst parts of governments, not just in the U.S. but all countries.

We are no longer the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. We are divided, there is no liberty, there is no justice for all. There is no leadership. Each person, state, city, county — are on their own and they are starting to behave that way. It’s all about ME!

When this over, and it will be over, may it have brought about REAL change. And change for the better. May people realize there is more to the world than just ME. May those that are vile and corrupt finally be removed from office. May all of this protesting finally bring about a change, not only racism, but by letting the government know we will not tolerate their corrupt power anymore. That climate change is real and we need to fix it now. And, may we finally acknowledgement that we are all in this together.

Maybe then, I will find my PATIENCE! I am sure it is just in hiding and waiting (patiently) for the world to be a better a place.
