What Not To Ask in Facebook Groups

Not sure who started the trend of posting questions in a Facebook Group and then ending it by saying, “okay, go”? I, personally, find it intrusive and kind of rude. What happened to manners and saying something as simple as, “please”?

I have been with Facebook since 2008. I have a variety of interests and belong to numerous groups. Whether it’s for learning or connecting with similar individuals, I join groups with a specific purpose in mind.

While Facebook groups can offer valuable information, advice, and meaningful exchanges, it’s essential to acknowledge that they can also be breeding grounds for misinformation and misguided advice. I see this often in groups.

The following are questions I often see but they should not be asked in Facebook Groups:

  1. Legal advice is a common topic in business or short-term vacation rental groups. Questions like “How do I start an LLC?” or “Do I need one?” frequently arise. While some group members may offer insights based on their experiences, it’s crucial to recognize the lack of verification regarding their expertise or the quality of their advice. Their circumstances might differ, they may have limited experience, or have consulted with lawyers of varying competence. Therefore, it’s challenging to discern whether the advice provided is sound or not…
