Embracing My Comfort Zone

I realized I am adventurous, but then what is adventurous?

“Adventurous” typically describes a person who is eager to take risks, try new experiences, and explore unfamiliar territory. It’s often associated with a willingness to seek out excitement and embrace challenges, whether they’re physical, intellectual, or emotional. Being adventurous can manifest in various ways, from trying new foods to traveling to exotic locations to pursuing unconventional hobbies or career paths. Ultimately, it’s about having a curiosity and openness to stepping outside of one’s comfort zone and embracing the unknown.

There is something about hitting your sixties that shouts, “NOW or NEVER.”

I have never considered myself “adventurous”, quite the opposite in fact. I am perfectly happy at home with a good book, getting my adventures through a work of fiction.

There were experiences where I thought, “that would be fun,” but I was too afraid to try.

When we sold almost everything we owned, bought an Airstream and Ford F-250 and committed to living on the road, I decided now was the time to put myself out there. To push myself out of my comfort zone. To test my limits. To face my fears and to “experience” some adventures I was always hesitant to try.
